The Long Now of Education is an emerging movement for transformation and a source of optimism for HFLI, first experienced during the inaugural gathering in 2024. Founded and hosted by the Colorado Academy’s REDI Lab in Denver, Colorado, The Long Now of Education “spans a 10,000-year arc to help us explore and develop learning that is worthy of human potential.”

We are excited to form our next cohort of educators for the Allies for Radical Collaboration (ARC) Fellowship—a year-long professional learning journey designed for educators serving diverse students in the Metro Detroit area.

On May 3, 2025, educators from HFLI’s Allies for Radical Collaboration (ARC) fellowship came together for a vibrant Show & Share Exhibition, the culminating event of a months-long journey of personal and professional transformation.

In May 2025, a group of bright, ambitious students from the Ford Law Career Academy at Henry Ford Academy visited Brooks Kushman Law Firm in Royal Oak (MI) for a hands-on field experience centered on the art of negotiation.

In 2023, Ford Philanthropy collaborated with HFLI's Social Innovation Studio® Team to bring the Ford College Network (FCN) Tech for Social Impact Accelerator to students at HBCUs and HSIs.

May 1, 2023 (DEARBORN, Michigan) -- Peers from the National Art Education Association (NAEA) Design Interest Group presented Deborah Parizek with the 2023 NAEA Outstanding Design Educator Award at a convening in San Antonio, Texas. She is the Executive Director of Henry Ford Learning Institute (HFLI) and an educator with 30 years of experience in dynamic learning environments.
