Now Seeking Metro Detroit Educators for HFLI’s 2025-2026 Allies for Radical Collaboration (ARC) Fellowship

Are you an educator who leads, loves and nurtures students in Metro Detroit?

We are excited to form our next cohort of educators for the Allies for Radical Collaboration (ARC) Fellowship—a year-long professional learning journey designed for educators serving diverse students in the Metro Detroit area.

ARC is not just another PD; it’s a powerful opportunity to explore your identity, deepen your impact, and build restorative and culturally responsive practices to foster authentic learning communities.

Together with a cohort of passionate, justice-minded educators, you’ll participate in professional learning, community experiences, and apply learnings to your practice through fieldwork and subsequent reflection.

If you are ready to reflect, grow, and act with authenticity and courage:
Learn more about the Fellowship and complete the interest form

If you know of a friend or colleague who is ready for this journey:
Nominate them

If you are a school leader who wants to encourage your team members to apply:

If, after reading the interest form, you still have questions:
We encourage you to email the ARC team at designthinking@hfli.org

ARC registration is a phased process that enables interested educators and program leaders alike to ensure there a strong fit. And there are a limited number of spots, so act soon! The 2025-226 Fellowship launches in late September.

Every time I come to ARC, I feel pushed to be a better educator.
Cohort C Fellow
Engaging in empathy maps really created space for seeing others in a more intentional way, and required me to be open to the biases I bring to judgements of them.
Cohort C Fellow
Our ARC Fellowship has really helped me to push myself as a leader to be a warm demander, and in turn, I’ve pushed my teachers to be warm demanders as well.

I used the Learning Pact to help middle school students set actionable steps to reach academic and behavioral goals. Of the six students I worked with on this, 4/6 moved their GPAs above a 3.0 from below a 2.0 within one quarter of the school year.
Cohort C Fellow
I received a network of like-minded, caring individuals committed to culturally responsive education.

My CRP Action Research Project allowed me to codify a unit I had been dreaming about for many years as a teacher. While adapting this activism unit, I explored how to connect my classroom community to our school community.
Cohort C Fellow
ARC created invaluable space and time to connect with like-minded educators.

Implementing my Action Research Project brought the restorative circle process into my PreK/K classes in a realistic and meaningful way. I always wanted to use the practice, but never saw a sustainable way to do it.
