Heading to Deeper Learning 2017, March 29-31 in San Diego?
Join HFLI’s Christopher Patten and Deborah Parizek for “Design Thinking: Connecting School to the Real World for Student Success.” It’s an immersive workshop being held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. on March 31.
How can a creative problem solving process help your school develop and sustain powerful community and business linkages that provide strong student experiences? Together, we will explore how schools are using Design Thinking to effectively build and structure relationships that engage teachers, students, community organizations and employers in meaningful learning and result in work products that have value in real life.
With an approach that’s both authentic and active, you will engage in a focused activity to help you practice working in groups to look at a problem from multiple angles and develop a solution that you and your group can quickly implement in your own context. We’ll highlight ways to break down complex, wicked problems using insights that stem from the knowledge of a vast range of stakeholders. This workshop requires no previous knowledge of Design Thinking, yet provides you with a replicable creative problem solving technique you can complete in a day. You’ll leave inspired and ready to take action in your own community.
